The seller is a lender, not a dealer
A finance company recovering a debt wants the car sold quickly and fairly. It is not trying to make a retail profit on it.
Every car on SecondCar is a finance repossession. When a finance agreement ends early, the lender takes the car back and needs to sell it quickly to recover what is owed — not to earn a dealer margin. That is why bidding starts well below forecourt prices.
The car is not cheaper because something is hidden. It is cheaper because of who is selling it and why.

There is no showroom, preparation budget, warranty package or sales commission built into the price.
Each car starts well below its retail value and sells for what buyers are willing to pay — every bid is visible.
Every car goes through the same checks before it is listed, so you can bid with the facts in front of you.

It was repossessed after a finance agreement ended early. The lender sells it at auction to recover the money owed.
Not in itself — repossession is about the previous owner’s finance, not the car. Condition varies from car to car, which is why each one has an inspection report, a condition grade and its MOT history.
The car is sold by or on behalf of the lender that repossessed it, so the finance is dealt with as part of the sale. Each listing shows its HPI result — if you are unsure about a car, contact us before you bid.
Sometimes. A second key, the service book or accessories may not have been returned with the car. Anything we know about is listed in the inspection report and description.
Bidding starts well below the car’s typical retail price, and the final price depends on the bidding. There is no dealer mark-up.
A buyer’s premium of 5% of the winning price (minimum £250) plus VAT on the fee. Every listing shows the total before you bid.
